I caught American Comedian Demetri Martin as part of a late night lineup at Edinburgh Festival some years ago and was immediately hooked. Local audiences may be familiar with him from the last episode of the first series of Flight of the Conchords. Martin was the keytar player in hapless manager Murray’s other act who scored the novelty hit ‘Doggy Bounce’
There’s a ton of stuff on Youtube from his Perrier award winning show ‘If I’ and his various other comedy specials. Probably best not to watch too much of his stuff in advance as it’s always good to discover a brilliant and original comedian raw. Demetri Martin comes over like a cool nerd with dead pan delivery, his show is likely to include flip charts, diagrams, palindromes, music, whimsy and hilarity.
